Safety and licences

Readers need to know who is behind a Casino and what supports a safety claim. The proposed profile can describe operating Companies, licence statements and player-protection policies with their applicable context. An independent check must remain distinguishable from what the Casino says about itself.

Separate the names and roles

A Brand is a commercial identity. A Company is a legal entity. A Casino's operating Company can differ from its licence holder, and one Company may have roles in several products. Each role needs its supported context.

For example, a source might name Company A as operator and Company B as licence holder. Copying one name into both roles would erase information. If a source names an entity that has not been identified, editors retain the unresolved claim instead of inventing a Company record.

What a licence statement tells a reader

A supported statement can identify a regulator, licence number, holder and jurisdiction. It does not prove that the licence covers every product or market connected to the holder. Coverage needs its own supported connection.

In the proposed first manual catalogue, these statements belong to the profile. A reusable licence directory is a possible later design if its identity and coverage rules are selected. The catalogue model shows both ideas without treating the wider directory as delivered.

A "verified" badge would need a defined check method, evidence, date, status and responsible owner. A badge in a design example supplies none of those checks. The policy for independent licence verification remains open.

Policies that affect the reader

The wider catalogue proposal includes supported identity-check requirements, responsible-gambling and self-exclusion statements, complaints and dispute procedures, account closure and inactivity conditions. Editors need to preserve what each policy applies to and any material gaps.

Publishing such a statement is not a safety guarantee, a legal conclusion or approval of a future Casino score. OC Score has a separate input and methodology decision. Review and publication explains how source-supported content is approved, and the catalogue review brief covers the remaining manual catalogue choices.
